This is my familiy recipe -- not part of Ryan's great 2007 cookie bake-off.
CREAM
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
COMBINE
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 t baking soda disolved in 1 t hot water
SIFT
2 c flour
1 t salt
1/2 t baking powder
Beat together all above, and then mix in by hand:
2 c oatmeal
1 c chocolate chips
Bake 350 for 10 minutes
